Winter 20/21 – let’s do this!
The greatest crew any mountain has ever had is at it again for the 2020/21 Season. With some resorts opening around the country, early season snow in the mountains and some primo snow making conditions we are looking forward to kicking off the season soon. Last week the western side of the San Gabriels received 6” to 9” of snow followed by great snowmaking conditions. Our crew did a solid job nailing down the light snow that fell and laid down a solid start to our base. We expect to operate for Scenic Lift Rides and Snow Tubing this weekend. The forecast shows potential for snow making windows throughout the forecast period, with other indicators pointing towards more precipitation at the end of the month. We currently do not have an opening date set for skiing & snowboarding but one can be expected soon.
Health & Safety
With concerns of the spread of COVID-19 and the health and safety of our guests and crew, changes at Mt Baldy Resort can be expected this season. Please visit our 2020/21 COVID-19 Guidelines page for an overarching approach to this winter. Some changes are unique to various aspects of our operation. Some of these changes are outlined further in this post and are also available through each of our informational pages.
Snow Tubing & Scenic Rides Changes
This season a 3 hour time window will be utilized to keep traffic moving through the resort with check in times available every 1/2 hour. After check-in, guests will enjoy a 20 minute ride up to the Top of the Notch Recreation Area where they will enjoy snow tubing and soak in the sights for the duration. Guests are expected to arrive for departure at the top of Chair #1 three hours or less after their original check-in time. Operating under these conditions will eliminate busy tubing sessions and the lines associated with them. Instead guests will be allowed in and out privileges which will promote excellent social distancing efforts.
Annual & Winter Season Passes
Thank you to all of our Season Pass Holders. We value your patronage and patience while we navigate the sales and distribution of season passes. We understand that – throughout the years – pass distribution has been a point of frustration. That is why we are excited to announce that we have purchased multiple season pass printing machines and a stand alone software to solve this issue. Moving forward we will no longer require email correspondence to acquire photos. Instead, each ticketing center is furnished with its own pass printing machine and camera with the ability to print your pass on demand in a matter of seconds. To expedite this process please bring a printed copy of your purchase. Remember, Mt Baldy is still world wide web challenged and there is no cell phone coverage.
For those of you who expressed interest in a Decade Pass. It has been decided that it will not be offered at this time. We are excited about the concept of such a pass and hope to potentially rebrand it as a Legacy Pass to help fund future development projects at Mt Baldy. Stay tuned as these projects are still developing.
This season we will utilize the same ticket pricing strategy as previous seasons, using a dynamic pricing model that rewards early purchases. These types of tickets are date specific and early purchases can save up to 75%. Tickets available soon.
Expired Tickets & Vouchers
- If your reservation or pre-purchased day specific ticket was cancelled and you opted for rebooking rather than a refund. We are now rebooking reservations, for after January 1, 2021. Please include the first and last name the reservation was made in, as well as the day you would like to make your reservation HERE
- If you have an expired promotional lift ticket or voucher our policy remains the same. We will honor the amount paid for purchase towards new purchases. Please be patient, verifying these transactions can take time. Include any and all information regarding your ticket or voucher HERE
Due to capacity limitations at Mt Baldy Resort & some of our reciprocal pass partners, there will be no partner resort perks program this season. We thank you for your understanding of the difficult situation and thank you for purchasing an Annual Pass despite not knowing whether there would or would not be a reciprocal pass program in 2020/21.
Day-of parking fees will vary according to demand. Add-on day and annual parking passes are available with online reservation and pass purchases. Purchase your parking pass online to avoid being lumped in with the snow players.
We are taking employment applications for the upcoming season. Come join the Dream Team at Mt Baldy Resort, spend your days in the fresh air, enjoy ski & ride breaks, get away from your screen, and spend some time with people. Schedule an interview now, APPLY HERE
