It is going to be a hot one this weekend. Temperatures are forecast to be at or above 100 degrees through out most of Southern California. Beat the heat and head up to the mountains where we expect day time high temps at 80 degrees with evening lows in the mid 60's, mostly sunny skies and a southwest wind gusting up to 25mph. Don't miss Rocky Top Saturday night and the Battle of the Brews Semi Final #2 Sunday afternoon this week. See you on the mountain.
Happy new Year!
The forecast has a series of fronts moving through So Cal bringing precipitation and snow to the mountain resorts. The systems moving through are fairly close to one another so we are not too sure what to expect. Early Friday morning we received almost an inch of new snow at the Notch and the forecast is calling for more through out the weekend.
We plan to operate through the weekend for scenic rides to the Top of the Notch restaurant, snow tubing and skiing and snowboarding on chair lifts #2 & #3 as well as complimentary lessons in our new Learning Center.
Expect groomed packed powder conditions in the ‘Gulch” accessed by chair #2. Thunder Mountain (Chair #3) has good coverage on Toilet Bowl to Bonanza with groomed packed powder conditions. The rest of the open runs on Thunder have had great snow conditions the last week but with minimal coverage, but with the expected precipitation over the weekend conditions are expected to be constantly changing with the varying snow levels forecast. Until we get more snow be on the look out for obstacles.
see you on the mountain
