The forecast calls for a nice day today with sunny skies, calm winds and a day time high of 50 degrees. Tomorrow afternoon however we expect a fast moving system to move through the area bringing gusty winds and a chance of snow showers. Most forecasts call for this system to push out overnight Saturday bringing mostly clear skies Sunday and hopefully an inch or so of snow. We anticipate operations of scenic rides to the Top of the Notch restaurant, snow tubing and the Gulch Park this weekend through next week before what some are calling the first big storm in a few years. El Nino forecasts are still on par and we are hoping Christmas Day is when it begins. Of course we will be watching this obsessively like an instagram account and will keep you updated. See you on the mountain.
Another beautiful spring day in Mt Baldy. Clear skies, day time high in the 60’s, northwest wind at 5 to 10 mph and perfect corn snow conditions. Thunder mountain has all the usual runs groomed for some super smooth carving this morning.
Snow next week is looking more and more probable and the long range forecasts are calling for that to be the first in a succession of late season systems. Skiing and Riding in May any one?
See you on the mountain.
